Nursery places open

REGISTRATION has been opened in East Renfrewshire for free nursery places.

And parents of three and four-year-old children are being urged to register their child as soon as possible.

The council says that all children who are three and four, or who turn three or four between March 1 2013 and February 28 2014, are eligible for a free nursery place covering five mornings or five afternoons per week.

Councillor Paul O’Kane, vice-convener of ERC’s education committee, said: “The nurseries in East Renfrewshire are amongst the best in the country and all three and four-year-olds are entitled to a place.

“I would recommend that parents who want to send their children to a council-run nursery get their applications in before deadline.”

Any parent who wishes to place their child on the council-run nursery list has until February 28 to apply.

Those interested should call 0141 577 3288 or e-mail pre.five@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.
