The first two men to complete childcare apprenticeships with East Renfrewshire council are fronting a council campaign urging others to consider a career in early years education.
Scott Nisbet and Stuart Brash have now qualified as child development officers, gaining their qualifications by training in East Ren nurseries.
Scott (20) said: “It’s fantastic to see how the childre interact with me — I think having a male in the nursery really does have a positive effect, and there’s a need for more men in the profession.”
Stuart (21) added: “The MA has been a really good way to get into it as opposed to university — you are there all week, you learn on the job, and you get to know everyone.”
