A NEW date on the Jewish community calendar proved to be success as Jewish Care Scotland’s Ladies Do Lunch raked in £4,000.
The charity event - organised by committee members Jennifer Watson, Andrea Fox and Shirley Brown - was attended by over 150 ladies.
Guest enjoyed lunch by En Croute and took part in games, a raffle and silent auction, while entertainment was provided by harpist Charlotte Sager and comedienne Isobel Rutter.
Jewish Care Scotland also took the opportunity to screen a new film highlighting the difficulties faced in the community and the support provided by the charity’s foodbank and hardship fund.
Chief executive Suzanne Neville said: “The money raised at the lunch is going directly to help people in the community experiencing hardship and crisis and to keeping the charity’s community social care services in place over the coming months.”
Fundraising manager Elspeth Campbell added a thank you to event sponsors, and commented: “We’ve had great feedback, and people really enjoyed the opportunity to gather with friends and family in support of Scotland’s leading Jewish charity.
“I hope we will be planning a similar event in the future.”
