Help for unemployed youth
EAST Renfrewshire council is hosting a workshop for its workER team’s Get Ready for Work programmes.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 16 and is aimed at the 16 to 19-year-olds eligible to join the programmes.
The aim is to ensure that each young person on the programme has the best opportunity to find a job, further training or furthering their education.
The team are there to make sure any young person using the service is referred to the most appropriate provider or see an advisor who will work with them and help them move forward.
Elaine Cheatley, who manages the Get Ready for Work programme for the council, said: “The courses provide a great opportunity for young people in East Renfrewshire.
“The courses are delivered locally and trainees will receive first-class training, work experience with a local employer and they will receive £55 per week training allowance.”
If anyone is interested in the workshop, it is being held between 10am and 2pm at workER, James McGuire Building, 124 Main Street, Barrhead.
