Glasgow lights up for Christmas

Waiting for Video...

GLASWEGIANS young and old rang in the festive season on Thursday night.

The city officially launched its Christmas programme by switching on the lights decorating George Square.

The event, hosted by Clyde 1 DJs George Bowie and Suzie McGuire, was attended by Glasgow’s lord provost, Sadie Docherty, and the cast of Pavilion panto The Wizard of Never Woz.

Spectators were treated to the traditional firework display over Glasgow city chambers, and now have the annual ice rink and fairground attractions to look forward to at the same venue.

For pictures of the switch-on, see next week’s Extra.
