Getting a lego up!

Waterstones at The Avenue shopping centre in Newton Mearns has won the top slot for Lego sales in Scotland — for the second year running.

And the small Waterstones store is the fifth biggest seller of Lego across all Waterstones outlets in the UK — far outstripping sales in much bigger London-based outlets.

Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue, said: “Given that there are 300 Waterstones throughout the UK, for Waterstones at The Avenue to be number one in Scotland and five in the UK for Lego sales is certainly an impressive feat!

“Much of that achievement can be attributed to Lego-fanatic store manager Craig Birrell — so congratulations to Craig and his number one team!”
