HAVE you ever wanted to start up your own business? Do you have a good idea you want to sell? Then financial help could be on hand to help you realise your dream.
New companies in East Renfrewshire may be eligible for up to £10,000 of support thnks to two funds being offered through the local authority.
The New Start Growth Fund and the Young Company Development Fund both aim to promote start-up development and support young companies with much-needed costs in the early stages of trading.
The New Start Growth Fund can provide assistance of up to £1000 towards the start-up costs of a new business, for businesses which have been trading for less than six months and are working with Business Gateway.
Also, the Young Company Development Fund can offer financial assistance of up to 50% of eligible property improvement, capital expenditure and rental costs up to a maximum of £10,000.
This fund targets small or medium-sized businesses that have been trading for no more than five years and are working with a Business Gateway adviser.
Graeme Currie of Business Gateway said: “Both of these funds have been established to give local businesses support in the early stages of trading.
“At Business Gateway we are committed to offering a comprehensive support service as well as access to sources of finance and funding, so we would encourage local businesses to contact us to find out how we can support their plans.
“These grants, combined with Business Gateway’s advice, will ensure many businesses are in a position to realise their development plans.”
The criteria to successfully apply for assistance from one or both of the funds is your business must be within East Renfrewshire and you must be working with a Business Gateway adviser.
