Fire crews fought the blaze until the early hours of Tuesday.

Fire crews fought the blaze until the early hours of Tuesday.

Fire engines rushed to the scene of a blazing building on Monday night.

Multiple calls were made as the fire took hold of an unused, twwo-storey building on Capelrig Road in Newton Mearns.

Engines from different fire stations sped to the scene with one from Pollok Community Fire Station arrived first as the fire took hold of the building.

A partial collapse of the building’s roof meant that crews fighting the blaze did so from outside the building.

It is not known when the fire began, but crews were called out around 8.25pm.

Firefighters fought the blaze into the small hours as relief crews from as far away as Maryhill attended.
