Charity East Renfrewshire Good Causes is set to benefit from a contribution fund spanning 20 years.
Developer Intelligent Land Investments (ILI) specialises in renewable energy, and uses some of the revenue from wind turbine developments to give back to nearby communities.
ILI has announced East Ren Good Causes — a charity which funds requests from the area’s most vulnerable residents — as a long-term partner, with a promised £5,000 per year.
Charity founder Russell Macmillan, from Newton Mearns, told The Extra: “The funding stream derived from the turbines has given ER Good Causes the long term stability to build our grass roots operation where benefits flow to every age group within our area.
“Small charities like ours seldom have the reassurance of knowing financial support is being delivered to them over the 20 year community benefit arrangement.
“This funding is most welcome and directly supports our attempt to raise the local standard by loving our neighbours.”
Mark Wilson, CEO of Intelligent Land Investments, added: “We are delighted to be able to support local businesses and charities across Scotland through our developments and community contributions.”
