TEACHER Margaret Barr has her sights set on Commonwealth glory after helping to make the World Youth Netball Championships a success.
The East Renfrewshire teacher, from St Thomas’ primary in Neilston, was part of the technical team at the August event.
Margaret said: “I was part of the team of technical officials, which involved overseeing scores and time-keeping. I loved taking part and my ambition now is to be selected to be part of the technical officials team for the Commonwealth Games.”
Margaret’s involvement in the sport has already paid off for some of her pupils, as P4s and the school’s netball team were able to watch a match at the netball championships.
The East Ren under 15 and under 17 teams — taught by Margaret — were also involved, acting as ball girls throughout.
