Court appearance following shooting

TWO men appeared in Paisley Sheriff Court charged with the murder of John Finnegan.

Both men were being held in custody.

Mr Finnegan, a known criminal, was found shot in Bank Street, Neilston, on October 27 last year and died later in the Southern General Hospital.

Francis Coates (35) and James McCarron (32) appeared in private on Monday in connection with the killing.

Neither man made a plea or declaration and were remanded in custody for another court appearance later in the month.
