Bowel cancer screening

East Ren's CHCP is urging people to be screened for bowel cancer.

East Ren's CHCP is urging people to be screened for bowel cancer.

The Scottish government’s campaign aiming to overcome the taboos surrounding bowel cancer is being backed by East Renfrewshire’s Community Health and Care Partnership.

The bowel cancer campaign hopes to remove the stigma of the disease and promote screening as the best way to detect any hiddn signs of the affliction.

While being the third most common cancer in Scotland, it is highly treatable if caught early.

People are being urged to look out for bowel cancer information from their libraries, Clarkston clinic, Giffnock council HQ, GP practices and dental surgeries throughout East Renfrewshire.
