Apprentice scoops college award
NEWTON Mearns student Frazer Inglis is head and shoulders above the rest of his class, having been awarded the City of Glasgow College Domestic Gas Apprentice award.
Frazer, who works for City Technical Services and trains at the college, was recently presented with the Ralph Wardle cup for his diligent work.
The third-year apprentice – a former St Ninian’s high pupil – thanked his lecturers for their help.
Frazer (26) commented: “To win something like this is incredible, although it came as a bit of a shock.
“Along with the training I received from lecturers at the college, this bodes well for the future.
“I owe a lot to curriculum leader John Scott, lecturers John McGoldrick and Ian Beggs, and Robert Keane the technician. They are extremely supportive to all the boys”.
The ceremony marked 45 years since the gas course began, and recognised excellence from first, second and third year students.
