Amy on the run for charity
Southside fundraiser Amy trains for the 10k in May.
CANCER Support Scotland have launched a campaign to encourage southsiders to take part in the Women’s 10k.
Fronting the drive is 22-year-old Amy Ticknell, from Strathbungo, who will be raising money for the charity at the Bellahouston park event on May 13.
Amy commented: “I’m feeling slightly apprehensive about the race because I’m not an experienced runner, but I’m willing to rise to the challenge for such a worthwhile cause.
“Having the whole Cancer Support Scotland team there on the day to cheer me on will also be a great motivating factor”.
Every woman who signs up to run for the charity, based in Gartnavel hospital, will receive a free runners’ pack, including a t-shirt and hints and tips for fundraising.
All sponsorship money raised will be used to support people living with cancer and their friends and family.
