50 years’ learning
Headteacher Ann Stewart and councillor Jim Fletcher join pupils as they release the 50th anniversary balloons.
WOODFARM high school celebrated its 50th birthday this week — with news of a cash boost.
The school is to receive £646,000 from East Renfrewshire council to upgrade its physical education accommodation.
Attending an anniversary celebration, council leader Jim Fletcher said that he was “delighted” to announce the investment, and added: “It’s time that the PE block got upgraded at the school and this investment will, I’m sure, be very welcome at Woodfarm”.
Pupils celebrated this week by releasing balloons with the school name on them — and asked people across the UK to get in contact if they find one.
Work on the new PE block is scheduled to start this year
