In doing so, Rosie McKay from Newlands won a Kindle and vouchers for her school.

The 10-year-old school girl said: “I am really happy that my diary entry has been chosen as the winner of the National Diary Week competition.

“My dream day involved me travelling to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, Spain as I have great memories of time spent there with my Granny and Bobo, Italy and the Amazon rainforest to see some amazing sights.
