Eastwood Juveniles made an unhappy return to action after a six week weather enforced lay-off, suffering a 5 - 3 defeat to Glentyan Thistle.
On a heavy pitch, Eastwood were slow to get going and Glentyan took the lead after 15 minutes.
However, the East Ren side were back in the mix just five minutes later thanks to a Elliot Mackenzie free kick.
THISTLE then added two in quick succession, with the latter on 30 minutes covered in controvery as the ball appeared to be kicked out of the home keeper’s hands before being forced over the line.
despite protests by the Juveniles, the goal stood.
Glentyan extended their lead five minutes into the second half. Eastwood continued to compete and pulled a goal back when after 50 minutes Tommy Duffy fired home the rebound after a well struck Josh Jess free kick.
Eastwood scored their third goal with 12 minutes remaining when Matt Murphy finished well after a mix up in the Glentyan defence.
The Juveniles continued to push for the equalizer but their comeback hopes were dashed with five minutes remaining when Glentyan scored their fith goal after a defensive mix up.
The club were recently accredited as a SFA quality mark club,which ensures clubs have the correct structures in place.
