It’s Doors Open Day for snappers

Exotic Tram Shelter by Sandy Gilmour

On the corner of Millbrae Road sits a rather anonymous looking building without windows. Have you seen it?

It’s not much to look at but go through the door and you will enter a vibrant, creative space full of wonderful images of landscapes, cities, people, animals, flowers, bugs … and you will even be able to do a bit of time travelling!

The building is home to the Queen’s Park Camera Club, the oldest camera club in Glasgow, founded in 1946. This year, for the first time, the club is opening its doors on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18, as part of the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival.

The building, located at 54 Millbrae Road, Glasgow, will be open from 10am to 4pm on both days. Teas, coffees and delicious home baking will be available for a nominal donation.

During the event members will be on hand to give you advice on how you can improve your own photography, or just get to grips with your own camera kit.
