EAST Renfrewshire’s CHCP is urging women aged between 20 and 35 years to ensure they have a cervical screening test done every three years.

The Extra recently highlighted a new campaign, backed by radio DJs Knoxy and Suzie McGuire, run by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

But East Ren’s CHCP is trying to raise awareness among women and compliments the NHS campaign.

The test only take five minutes, but saves around 5,000 live each year in the UK, and prevents eight out of 10 cervical cancers from developing.

Appointments can be made with a GP, family planning service or at a sexual health clinic.
