AN East Renfrewshire care facility for adults with learning and physical disabilities has swept the board after a recent inspection.
The Barrhead Centre was visited by Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland, and inspectors awarded the facility with four excellent grades – the highest possible.
Their report commented on “excellent interaction between staff and service users” and commended staff for being caring and knowledgeable about individual needs.
The report reads: “It was evident that the management team continued to source and develop new ideas and challenges for themselves and service users”.
Councillor Alan Lafferty, East Renfrewshire council’s social work and health convener, said: “This report is a great mark of achievement and shows the dedication and hard work of managers and staff.
“I’m delighted that the inspectors have noted the high quality of care and support that is delivered by the Barrhead centre”.
The centre, run by East Renfrewshire Community Health and Care Partnership, provides activities for service users Monday to Friday, and is aimed at encouraging independence and integration into the community.
