The second annual Walk for Eastwood event was a well-supported charity fundraiser for the main beneficiary, East Ren Good Causes (ERGC).
The sun was splitting the skies as hundreds of walkers of all ages and abilities took to the the route in Rouken Glen Park.
The fundraiser, organised by Eastwood Rotary, sees 75 per cent of the money raised being donated to ERGC, who then use this to support projects within the southside community for the disabled, those who are struggling due to limited income or even someone who just needs a wee hand up after suffering personal difficulties.
Russell MacMillan, founder of the charity, spoke exclusively to The Extra, saying: “I am extremely grateful to Eastwood Rotary for their support once again this year with the Walk for Eastwood.
“The event, which was well-attended, managed to raise £2087 - and there is still more to come in.
“ERGC are working on a number of projects at present including a greenhouse and growing area for Eastwood Dementia Centre.
“These funds will go a long way to bringing this project to fruition earlier than was first expected.”
