GLASGOW-based singer-songwriter Aaron Fyfe’s star is on the rise and you’ll be able to see what the fuss is all about at The Roxy on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old from Dunblane is undoubtedly one of the most talented upcoming musicians in the UK at the moment.
Last year, he signed Innovation Music after an impromptu performance at a party (a testament to the raw talent of the Dunblane-born artist) and he has since gone on to impress some of the biggest names in the industry.
The hardworking musician is currently playing all the gigs he can to promote his Closer To You EP which he has released with the help of some big names in the industry.
Jud Mahoney, known for his work with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Justin Timberlake, produced while Steve Price, who in 2012 won a Grammy for his engineering work on the Adele album 21 — and more recently was championed for his work with Emeli Sande is at the helm of the mixing deck.
Fyfe’s emotive vocal quality and honest lyrics are reminiscent of Ray Lamontagne (who Fyfe cites as one of his biggest musical influences, alongside the likes of Ben Harper and Tracy Chapman).
His undeniable talent is enriched by a dynamic band of musicians that help to present his diverse collection of songs while maintaining a distinctive and resonating sound.
He told Scene: “Making music is clearly something that is very special to me. I love it, it’s all I really ever wanted to do.
“As Duane Allman said, ‘music moves your heart and makes your soul fee good’. I think that nails it!”
Closer To You — EP is available now on iTunes and all major digital music stores while doors open for Aaron Fyfe’s acoustic set at 7.30pm on Tuesday at The Roxy. Tickets are £4.
