It’s summer fete time at the Cottage Homes Crookfur Estate as retailTRUST unveils the date of its annual fundraiser.

This year’s family fun event runs Saturday, June 13, 1-4pm, and is open to Crookfur Estate residents, their families and friends and the wider East Ren community.

Children’s events will include pony rides, a bouncy castle and afternoon tea at the petting zoo, while the grown ups can indulge at the barbecue and drinks tent.

There will also be craft stalls and home baking, with the proceeds going to the charity, set up in support of retired retail workers.

A retailTRUST representative said: “Established in 1964, Cottage Homes at the Crookfur Estate is a vibrant community. There are over 120 residences, exclusively open to ex-retail workers.

“The retailTRUST works tirelessly to provide funding and support to its various divisions and is now looking to the local Newton Mearns and Glasgow communities to join them in a day of fun and friendliness, while raising money for a fantastic cause.”

The summer fete has the support of local supermarkets Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Whole Foods, Waitrose and Sainsburys, with representatives also in attendance.
