Friday October 5

JOB fair hosted by MSP James Dornan at Langside College. Running 10am-2pm and aimed at ages 16-26 - although other constituents are welcome.

VOLUNTEER Week information and networking event at Orchardhill memorial hall, Church Road, Giffnock. 2-3.30pm. Event is free and refreshments provided.

Saturday October 6

BABY and children’s nearly-new market returns to Bellahouston. The Jack and Jill Market is on at the sports centre 10.30am-1.30pm. Entry £1 (children get in for free).

JUMBLE sale held by 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scouts. Huge selection of bric-a-brac, books, toys, DVDs etc. 11am start at the Scout Hall on Arthurlie Drive. Admission £1.

PAINTINGS for sale at the Coach House in Greenbank gardens, 11am-5pm.

GUIDED walk at Whitelee windfarm, on fungi spotting. Mushrooms at Carrot takes place 2-3.30pm, and is free. To book, call 614 0962.

JAZZ night with the Emma James Quartet, performing from 7pm at Leo’s bar and grill, Giffnock. Free event. To book, call 571 1022.

Sunday October 7

WEEKLY meeting of the Carnwadric Crew Youth Fellowship. Group meets Sundays 7-8.30pm (except the 1st Sun of the month) at Carnwadric church. Games, music, chat etc for 50p entry. To find out more, contact fionapetrie64@btinternet.com.

Tuesday October 9

TIME Out For Carers takes place at Eastwood House. Event for over 50s who provide unpaid help or support to a relative, partner, friend or neighbour. 10am-1.45pm. Free to join.

STARGAZING at Whitelee. Join astronomer Steve Owens from 7pm and witness the stars as they should be seen – in the dark night sky over the windfarm. Free event.
