CELEBRATE National Poetry Day at Clarkston Library. Free event from 7pm — part of the 2014 East Renfrewshire Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.

Friday October 3

POEMS and Songs of WW1 at Arthurlie House in Barrhead. An afternoon inspired by memories of the First World War running 1-4pm — entry is free.

Saturday October 4

COFFEE morning run by the Brownies at South Shawlands Church, 10am-noon.

JUMBLE sale at the Scout Hall, Arthurlie Drive, Giffnock. Huge selection of bric-a-brac, toys, books, DVDs etc. Doors open at 11am and admission £1.

Sunday October 5

PROGRAMME of illustrated talks from NTS Eastwood and District Members’ Centre returns for 2014/15. Today, an illustrated talk — A sort of amateur teacher — by Glenda White. 7.30pm at Clarkston Hall.

ANTIQUES Roadshow rolls into Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, 9.30am-4.30pm. Free admission.
