ANNUAL Community Safety Event held by Auchenback Active. 11am-3pm at Auchenback Resource Centre. Kids entertainment, community cafe, fire engines, displays and more — free to join.

TASTE of the Edinburgh Tattoo in George Square from 12.30pm. Free event, showcasing 600 performers from across the world.

Saturday August 9

EASY Cycle at Rouken Glen Park, courtesy of Barrhead Centre and Neilston Development Trust. Meeting at the Pavilion, try a range of cycles from noon — free bike checks and info.

GARDENERS welcome back to Greenbank House for monthly garden walk - this time focusing on autumn pruning. 2.30-4pm — price included in house admission.

Sunday August 10

FUNDAY Sunday at The Avenue. Activities for children from 11am-4pm, with mascots Newton and Fearn giving away balloons and goodies. Free to join.

CINEMA at The Burrell Collection (repeated Weds and Sun). This week, a cunning plan as classic cinema revisits one of Rowan Atkinson’s famous characters in the trenches. 2pm — free event.
