Woodfarm High pupils swapped the classroom for a high-tech lorry last week when a mobile laboratory visited the school.

The Institute of Physics’ Lab in a Lorry aims to encourage the next generation of scientists, and first and second year pupils were able to take part in experiments on the properties of light and using sound waves to smash glasses.

Joining in on the educational fun was Eastwood MSP Ken Macintosh (pictured).

Dr Simon Hadfield, faculty head of science at Woodfarm, said: “The experiments thoroughly complemented our science curriculum, and it provided an insight for our S2 pupils into potential science careers.”
