An Eastwood high school pupil will take part in a national debate in the House of Commons this week.
Nicole Dempster, a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament, will join more than 300 other elected youth parliament members from across the UK at the event.
She is one of just 20 young people from Scotland to be chosen to take part.
It will be chaired by the speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon John Bercow, and will be broadcast live on BBC Parliament.
Nicole, from Newton Mearns, has been a member of the SYP since 2012 and is one of three young people from East Ren sitting on the parliament.
The 17-year-old told The Extra: “I am really looking forward to the debate and being in the House of Commons.
“It’s a real privilege to sit on the green benches where the likes of prime ministers Winston Churchill and Tony Blair have sat.”
The sixth year pupil is an active prefect and studying for advanced highers in history and drama and a higher in modern studies.
The debate, which will focus on five top issues as voted for by young people from across Britain, will take place tomorrow (Friday).
