PUPILS at Busby primary are on their marks this week, training for a charity marathon taking place this Saturday.
The youngsters are joining parents and staff in a relay race at Williamwood high school track, where over a hundred people have registered to take part in aid of the both the school and Busby parish church.
The event begins at 1.45pm, with East Renfrewshire MSP Ken McIntosh and head teacher Sharon Hunter racing the first few hundred yards before passing coloured batons on to four teams.
Radio DJ Suzie McGuire will set the runners off, and every team will complete enough laps to equal a full marathon.
Organiser and parent council member Ishay Carmon commented: “So far, over 189 have registered to take part in the event. But we have additional t-shirts for those who want to join in on the day”.
Registration costs £2 per person, and anyone interested can contact email@example.com.
