Lighting up for Malawi

Eaglesham Primary pupils were thinking of more than just Scotland at the school’s recent Burns Night celebrations.

The eco school was out to show that it can go Greener Together, with the children performing on a stage illuminated by solar power.

The move was part of the Scotland Lights Up Malawi education programme run by Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB), raising awareness of and money for solar lights for Malawi.

KSB education development officer Fiona Lindsay commented: “The pupils of Eaglesham Primary are setting a fine eco example to the rest of East Ren.

“It’s great to see that the children are taking the lead in making wise and sustainable decisions in their everyday activities.”
