Kirkhill Primary and Woodfarm High were presented with a Sportscotland Gold School Sport Award this week, recognising the sporting achievements of pupils and staff.

The award scheme encourages schools to improve the quality and quantity of PE lessons and sports opportunities, as well as establishing sporting links between schools and their communities.

Yvonne Donaldson, head teacher at Kirkhill Primary, said: “We’re delighted — together with our active school coordinator Barry Cook, we have worked hard to ensure that physical education, activity and sport feature prominently in the lives of all our pupils.”

Nicola McGlashan, head at Woodfarm, added: “Our aim now is to continue to provide high quality experiences for our pupils.”
