Thanks to kindhearted locals and people around the world, a local man has achieved his target dream.

Eddie Kirkwood’s crowdfunding page ran for 30 days from the day he went viral on Facebook picking the litter on the streets of Shawlands. Thanks to the generosity of others, a total of £5,358 was raised allowing him to purchase his new Football Powerchair.

Eddie is a full time wheelchair user. He likes to keep himself busy and is well known in the Shawlands and Queen’s Park area of Glasgow for his litter picking to keep his local area tidy. Eddie’s passion is football but is disability meant that he was never able to play. In 2013 a Scottish Powerchair Football League started, enabling Eddie to enjoy the sport he loved. Eddie Scott, a former neighbour of Eddie’s had donated £20 to the cause. He took it upon himself to make a push around the Southside to get people donating again so that Eddie could get his chair. It was his efforts that ensured the target was met.

Eddie Kirkwood would like to say a big thank you to all those who donated to let him achieve his dream.
