A group of seven pupils from Eastwood High were escorted by librarian Anne De’Ath to the Scottish Book Awards ceremony at Glasgow’s Central Station Hotel at the beginning of the month.

The children had been invited as part of a ‘meet the authors’ event, where they also had the opportunity to vote for their favourite book title.

Librarian Anne said: “The pupils, from S2-S6, also took part in a linked book review competition, as well as voting for their favourite shortlisted book.

Their votes really count and this year’s winner was, Danny Weston with his supernatural horror, “The Piper” partially set during World War 2.”
