Some 200 singers from Giffnock and Newton Mearns joined a mass performance and raised the roof at the Kelvingrove Banstand on Saturday.

The two local Rock Choir groups joined 17 others from across the central belt to celebrate the organisation’s 10th anniversary, and to raise a whopping £2,00 for the Beatson Cancer Charity.

Choir leader Elaine Williamson said: “It’s amazing that we can bring together so many people who just love to sing. To do this during our 10th anniversary year, and to raise well-needed funds for the Beatson, a charity we have worked very closely with, is just brilliant.”
