Summer 2017 has begun gloriously for Giffnock enterprise First Floors - which has won two top awards in the space of a week.

The company (@firstfloors) gained the coveted titles of Scotland’s Best Flooring Company 2017 at the Scottish Home Improvement Awards and also Best Business 2017 (10 employees or less) at the East Renrfrewshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Owner David Samuel said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won these two prestigious awards.

“They reflect our exceptional range of hand-picked products, showcased in our three showrooms in the heart of Giffnock, our competitive prices and our dedicated, professional fitting team.

“As an independent family run business we welcome competing against the major chains and online retailers,

“Our approach to sales, combined with a family-friendly, well-designed environment in which to browse our products, has kept our customers coming back time again.”

He added: “We hope these awards will encourage customers to visit First Floors to see for themselves why we have been awarded these accolades.

“To be named Scotland’s Best Flooring Company and East Renfrewshire’s Best Business is a huge honour.”

The First Floors showrooms are a hidden Tardis accessed via the front shop on Fenwick Road.

Management say once inside customers are always surprised to see the size of the area, and what is reckoned one of the biggest selections of carpet, wood, laminate and luxury flooring in Scotland.

All major brands are represented, says the firm, with floors to suit all budgets.

They have been fitting carpet, laminate, luxury vinyl and wood flooring for homes in Glasgow, Ayrshire and beyond since 1994.

In 2011 First Floors first opened their doors in Giffnock, then two years later opened a 4,500 sq ft flooring showroom - making them Giffnock’s largest independent retailer.

The extra offerings include a bespoke rug service, a dedicated children’s play area, coffee bar and a free home consultation service.

Flooring specialists bring samples to the customer’s home, offer advice and measure up with no obligation.

A spokesman said: “From contemporary, elegant, minimalist and quirky designs to more traditional styles, there is a floor covering to suit everyone.

“What’s more, as a thankyou to our customers old and new, First Floors is currently offering 10 per cent off all flooring products for a limited time!”
