If so, Rouken Glen Park management would love to hear from you

The Park is holding a reminiscence session to add local memories to a new history booklet called ‘Rouken Glen Park Rediscovered’.

And, in order to ensure the booklet is as thoroughly researched as possible they’d like to speak to anyone who has memories of the park.

Do you have a good story about Rouken Glen?

• Did you visit on a school or Sunday outing?

• Do you remember events in the park during the 1950s -1990s?

• Do you remember The Glen motorboat or the Rouken Rally?

If so, then you may be the key to helping staff compile the most extensive booklet ever produced about this southside gem.

The event will take place in the Pavilion Visitor Centre, Rouken Glen Park, Giffnock on Friday, March 18 from 11am to 2pm, and a buffet lunch will be provided for all those who are attending.

Why not pop along and discuss your memories. Individuals will be filmed as part of video about the park and your words will contribute to a developing a piece of hisotry preserved for the future of all.

Group transport can also be made available to those who require it.

And staff have asked us to print the picture above, which was believed to have been taken in the 1950s/60s era. Do you recognise anyone in the picture? if so email: john.macinnes@jpress.co.uk and we’ll pass it on.
