An updated report by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary on call handling has been presented to the Scottish Parliament.

It was called for in light of the tragic deaths of John Yuill and Lamara Bell in July of this year.

Following receipt of the report, the justice secretary sought assurances that the 30 recommendations will be completed and Police Scotland confirmed they will be implemented in full.

The report highlights a number of positive developments that have been taken forward by Police Scotland, including staffing levels within the control rooms since 2015 and the implementation of a new, more robust, training system for control centre staff to develop this crucial area of business by the police.
