Knife thug flees empty-handed from Clarkston robbery bid

Police are hunting a man who brandished a knife at terrified staff in a Clarkston post office today (Saturday, January 7).

One victim was slightly injured in the botched lunchtime raid, but did not require treatment.

The attempted robbery happened at 1.40pm in the Premier store in Busby Road, Clarkston, at a time when the area is normally busy.

The thug - described as a white Scottish man over 6ft tall - threatened two male employees but fled empty-handed towards Eastwoodmains Road.

Police are now checking CCTV footage in their bid to net the culprit.

The suspect is described as a white Scottish man, over 6ft in height. He was wearing a woollen hat and was carrying a black bag.
