POLICE are hunting for a driver who deliberately drove at one man and hit and seriously injured another by-stander.
The incident occurred at about 6.40pm on Friday, near Thornliebank train station, and officers are treating the case as attempted murder.
They reported that a 25-year-old was standing on a footpath at Roukenburn Street when a blue Fiat Bravo was driven towards him.
The car missed the man, but hit a 33-year-old man — said to be partially sighted — nearby.
The injured man was taken to the Victoria Infirmary where he received treatment for a broken collar bone and knee injuries.
The car involved was found in nearby Boydstone Place a short time after the event.
Police have issued a description of the driver — a white male, of heavy build. He was the only person in the car at the time.
Detective sergeant Phil McLauchlan, of Govan police station, said: “This incident has resulted in a man being seriously injured. We are currently in the process of trying to establish the motive which resulted in the car being driven at the first man.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the car or the occupant of the car, prior to or following the incident, to contact us”.
