Police at Giffnock are continuing enquiries and appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing a 27-year-old man who is missing from the Neilston area.

Matthew Cooper (27) was last seen at his home address on Barr Avenue on Tuesday, April 5 by a relative. He is understood to have left the house around 8am in the morning with a holdall containing camping equipment.

Matthew is described as white, 6ft tall, with a slim build. He has brown hair and is usually clean shaven. When he was last seen he was wearing a dark jacket.

Inspector Alan Dickson, from Giffnock police office, is appealing for information. He spoke to The Extra saying: “We understand that he is well equipped for camping, however, there has been a family bereavement and his family need to speak to him and asks that he gets in contact as soon as possible.

“I would ask anyone who recognises his description and may have seen him, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact police officers at Giffnock police office on the 101 number as a matter of urgency.”
