TWO men have been convicted of murdering Pollokshields man William McKeeney outside his home.

Asif Rehman (20) and Adel Ishaq (19) were today found guilty of killing the 57-year-old outside the flat on Melville Street.

Mr McKeeney – originally from Donegal – had been walking home from a nearby pub on January 15 when he was attacked.

His partner, 48-year-old Annemarie Newlands, said she had been watching for him at the window. She spotted “two Asian men stamping on something”, but didn’t realise it was a body until they fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the Victoria Infirmary but died a short time later.

The duo denied the charge at the high court in Kilmarnock, but were found guilty and will be sentenced at a later date.
