There’s been an upsurge in cycling in East Renfrewshire during lockdown – but unfortunately there’s also been an increase in bike thefts.

Over recent weeks, police in East Renfrewshire have received numerous reports of bikes being stolen.

Cyclists are being urged to secure their bikes when not in use. It’s also worth ensuring bikes are security marked and taking photographs of bikes, particularly any distinguishing features.

Police have also reported a increase in thefts of garden furniture, and again officers are encouraging households to make sure their property is secure.
