A MAN killed in a car crash on Sunday has been named as David Wood, of Clarkston.

The 24-year-old was driving a dark grey Hyundai coupe when the incident took place on Sunday (September 1), around 6.40am.

According to police, the car is thought to have crossed a carriageway in Battlefield, colliding with the front of a First bus stopped at traffic lights on Grange Road, near its junction with Langside Road.

Emergency services attended but Mr Wood died at the scene. His relatives are aware.

The 27-year-old male bus driver was uninjured, but left extremely shaken by the crash, and was taken to the Victoria Infirmary as a precaution. No passengers on board were injured.

Sergeant Joe McGuckien, of the roads policing complex in Govan, issued an appeal for witnesses earlier this week, and can be contacted on non-emergency number 101.

A full report of the incident will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
