Clarkston station flourishing

CLARKSTON train station is blooming lovely, thanks to volunteers from the community council and the area’s horticultural society.

The two groups this year adopted the station under a ScotRail scheme, working together to organise, plant and maintain flowers on the station platform using funding from the transport authority.

Now that the station is looking brighter, the Busby and Clarkston Horticultural Society hope to attract more members – and with the annual flower show taking place this week, it’s the ideal time to find out more.

The flower show takes place on Saturday, from 2pm, at Clarkston halls – meanwhile, the community council welcomes all to its next meeting, taking place on Monday at 7.30pm in the same venue.
