A Clarkston film maker was honoured at a glittering awards ceremony with a second BAFTA win for his Dunblane tragedy documentary.

Multi award-winning producer/director Stephen Bennett has been working in television since 1995.

In 2000 he moved into documentaries and has worked internationally on primetime commissions for the BBC, Channel 4, Discovery and the History Channel.

His “The Walking Wounded”, an uncompromising look at the experiences of young ex-soldiers as they adapt to civilian life, won the prestigious Bafta in Scotland Award for Best Current Affairs in 2011.

Dunblane: Our Story is a landmark film commemorating the 20th anniversary of the deadliest firearms atrocity in the UK to date.

And it was this work which was honoured most recently at the Scottish BAFTA’s, held in Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel.

Stephen took the top award for best single documentary beating off two other hotly-tipped contenders for the prestigious title at the star-studded evening, and was absolutely delighted to be presented with his award by Doctor Who star and fellow Scot, Peter Capaldi.
