HE WAS one of the biggests anti heroes from the 90s — Frank Begbie, as portrayed by Robert Carlyle.
That was what the members of The Begbies wanted to push in your face when they were starting up; an image of the mega-violent Trainspotting character.
Heavily influenced by the likes of The Ramones, The Specials, Joy Division and The Clash, this group from Livingston in West Lothian will be bringing their brand of ska/punk to King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on January 3.
Guitarist Liam said: “We seem to be creating our own genre, skindie.”
The band is appearing with Soldier On, The Virginia Dons and Lemon Haze.
Tickets for The Begbies cost £6.50.
