YOUNGSTERS at Stamperland Football Club will play on whatever the weather, thanks to a donation from Glasgow Credit Union.

East Renfrewshire’s youth football team was given a boost in the form of a £300 donation, after the credit union was approached by member Jacqueline McLaughlin, whose eight-year-old son plays for the side.

Jacqueline — also a committee member alongside head coach Davie Carr — will use the cash to buy cold weather training jackets, as well as fund medals for every child taking part.

The football club has been running for 13 years and has seen 140 children of all ages take to the pitch.

Hayley Street, of Glasgow Credit Union said: “We hope our donation will help more youngsters into sport”.
