The Newton Mearns-based camera club Eastwood Photographic Society is held in high esteem among its peers.

Its reputation for photographic excellence means the club has no trouble attracting celebrity photographers to give talks at the clubs regular meetings.

President Ken Wilkie outlined some of this year’s highlights at its recent AGM.

Top dates included talks by visiting speaker Neil McGregor on the nuances of nature photography.

Expert Rikki O’Neill gave his unique take on some of the tricks of creative camera work and graphic art.

There were also guest speakers Leigh Woodford on Iceland, Robert Fulton the awardwinning landscape photographer and Ross Eaglesham on his experiences as an official photographer at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The club has now closed for its summer break and reconvenes on Thursday, September 3, in Albertslund Hall in Newton Mears for its 2015-16 session.

The winning members with their silverware and club trophies are Gary Winston, Ross Eaglesham, Ken Lindsay, Stuart McCann and Marcella McLatchie
