Three major development projects in East Renfrewshire, which will cost around £23.5m, have made significant progress in recent months.

As part of the Glasgow City Region City Deal, plans are under way to improve the road network between Barrhead, Newton Mearns and the M77, create a new train station near Auchenback and transform Dams to Darnley Country Park into a must-visit leisure destination.

Impressive artist’s impressions have now been released showing how each of these projects could look once the developments are completed over the next three years.

Councillor Tony Buchanan, Convener for Infrastructure and Growth, said: “It’s really exciting to see the images that have been produced for these key projects. It really brings each of them to life and gives you an insight into what it’s going to be like. The City Deal projects will play an important part in developing East Renfrewshire’s local economy, as well as creating jobs and improving business opportunities. We are committed to delivering a better future for all of our residents and these projects will play a major part in helping us to achieve this goal.”
