Calling all innovators and entrepreneurs — East Renfrewshire Business Awards nominations are open for 2015.

The Chamber of Commerce-run event is in its fourth year — and 2015 will see two new categories added with a green award, sponsored by Barrhead Housing Association, and social enterprise of the year award, sponsored by Taylor Wimpey.

East Renfrewshire chamber president John Hamilton said: “It is my pleasure to announce the launch of the 2015 business awards, and I would like to thank all our sponsors for their support. The awards provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of the chamber, our members and business in East Ren.”

Other categories include most promising new business sponsored by Asda, excellence in customer service sponsored by The Avenue and family business of the year sponsored by Gleniffer Estates.

Local firms can also pick up outstanding performing business with less than five employees (sponsored by East Ren Council’s A Place to Work) less than 25 employees (Business Gateway) and more than 25 employees (West College Scotland).

Applications are available at www.eastrenchamber.org.uk/erba2015, with a closing date of Monday, April 27.

This year’s official sponsor is West College Scotland, and the glitzy awards ceremony is set for Thursday, June 4 at Dalmeny Park Hotel.

Audrey Cumberford, principal of West College Scotland, added: “We have many important partnerships with businesses throughout East Renfrewshire and this is something we are keen to build on.

“We’re pleased to reaffirm our commitment to East Ren through our involvement.”
